State of Ohio Cracks Down on Child Support Delinquencies

In Port Clinton, Ohio, four parents were recently indicted in by an Ottawa County grand jury for defaulting on their
child support payments to their minor children. The child support payments were ordered by Ohio courts and the parents were indicted after serious delinquency had occurred.
According to reports, Tyrone Porter (33) and Dale R. Weber (50) were both indicted on two counts of criminal nonsupport felonies of the fifth degree. 44 year old Ricky L. Burris and 37 year old Christopher W. Harvey were both indicted on four counts of criminal nonsupport, felonies of the fourth degrees. Both of the aforementioned men have prior convictions for nonsupport of their minor children.
The state of Ohio plans to continue monitoring non-payment of child support and cracking down on parents who are delinquent with their payments. Additionally, the state is continuing to look into ways in which it can collect unpaid child support from parents who have continually failed to make payments.
