Police recently arrested a 27-year-old man who assaulted his girlfriend who is the mother of the child they share together. Reports state that the incident began around 6:45 in the morning when the man, C.C., and his 22-year-old girlfriend got into an argument. The argument became increasingly heated and the woman, M.R., said that was when C.C. punched her. The two were in the room with their three-month-old baby daughter. The criminal complaint goes on to say that C.C. didn't stop with punching the woman but then poured a bottle of perfume on her and ignited the flammable liquid with a cigarette lighter. The flaming perfume caused severe injuries to M.R. who was rushed to the hospital with second degree burns on 30 percent of her body. Luckily, the baby was not hurt in the incident. M.R. was treated and was listed as being in critical but stable condition. Police located and arrested C.C. later in the day. He has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, causing or risking a catastrophe, aggravated assault, two counts of arson endangering a person and attempted homicide.
