Study Counters Divorce Beliefs

It is a known fact that half of American marriages will eventually end in divorce. With the divorce rate so high, there are several informal think tanks devising ways of reducing this figure. Generally, when it comes to the divorce rate, there are two major sides: those that believe that divorce can be avoided and those that believe it is inevitable. At this time, both sides are presenting some interesting points.

There are those that believe that once people set their minds to getting divorced, there is no use in talking them out of it. Trying to keep people in unhappy relationships is like forcing couples to stay in bad relationships. In most cases, reconciliation will only serve to delay the inevitability of divorce, rather than eradicate it.

Yet, recent research shows that the above thoughts are not necessarily true. One study found that more than half of divorcing couples were in an average state of happiness with each other and had few conflicts.

Regardless of your reasons for divorce, if you are planning to end your marriage, you'll want to ensure you are protected by hiring a family lawyer.
