Man Owes Thousands in Child Support Payments

There are thousands of parents who have fallen behind on their child support payments in this country. However, not all of them owe tens of thousands of dollars.

In Racine a 33-year-old man now faces criminal charges for failing to make his child support payments. According to the Racine County District Attorney's Office, he has been charged with 12 counts of failing to make support payments. In total, he owes the mother of his four children $27,988.02 dating back to November 2005. In addition, he owes the same woman $13,494.82 just for interest costs on those missed payments.

If the man is found guilty of all the charges against him, he could spend up to 42 years in jail, be forced to pay fines up to $120,000, or even both.
