Richest Couple in San Diego in Middle of Alimony Dispute

Once known as the richest couple in San Diego County, Charles and Linda Brandes are now in the middle of an ugly alimony battle.

The couple, who met back in the 1980's, started their relationship with serious financial disparity. At that time Linda was a city librarian earning $6/hour while he was a money manager making over $150,000 per year. Even though the couple divorced six years ago it appears that Linda now wants a larger slice of the pie.

Although the exact numbers are unknown, experts believe that Linda is worth $93 million while Charles is said to have a fortune of $1.5 billion. Charles attributes his great fortune to savvy investment moves but Linda is arguing that he simply could not have done it without her support. Even though most people would be thrilled to receive $50,000 per month in spousal support like Linda is, the millionaire is not satisfied. She is now asking for $750,000 in addition to a share of the stock deal that netted Charles $140 million.
