Many Surprised by Jack White's Divorce Party

If you are someone who keeps up with celebrity news, you are likely to be surprised by another high-profile divorce. What may surprise you, however, is a party to celebrate the divorce.

That is exactly what model Karen Elson and singer Jack White have decided to do this month, and the tabloids are going crazy. The two recently announced that they will throw a divorce party, intended to commemorate their divorce as well as their six years of marriage to one another. Friends and family have received invitations to the event which will be held in Nashville.

A joint statement reaffirmed this strange party, that "We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlet and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time that we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow."

While some think that a divorce party is a strange and even terrible idea, others believe that it is a positive way to deal with divorce.
