New Child Custody Initiative Introduced

Rather than spend months, or even years, fighting over child custody, a new initiative hopes to get children into their new (or old) residences sooner.
The program involves the parents, attorneys and a brief judge consultation. To begin, a guardian ad-litem will be appointed to each family to investigate the living conditions of both parents. This court representative must complete their investigation within 60 days. After this has been completed, the parents will then go to mediation to discuss the details of child custody.
Even though the details of child custody can be numerous and even daunting, ranging from allowing children to observe certain religious preferences to how they should be disciplined, the entire process should take no longer than 90 days. If this is all completed successfully, both the parents and children will be able to move on with their lives sooner than if the child custody battle is taken to court. In some cases, it could save as much as nine months worth of arguing and heartache.
Looking to obtain full or joint custody? If so, it is strongly advised that you have a family law attorney on your side that can represent your best interests.
