Nas Struggling to Pay Child Support in California

At this time, it is being reported that rap legend, Nas, is finding it difficult to make child support payments to his estranged wife, Kelis.  He is also having a rough time keeping up to date with his spousal support payments.

When asked why he could not make child or spousal support payments, he responded that he could not afford it.  In 2009, Kelis filed for divorce from Nas, just a few months before the birth of their son, Knight.

Since last April, the couple has been in a heated child custody battle.  Once divorce paperwork was filed, Nas was ordered to pay Kelis $87,000 in late spousal support and child support.   His monthly spousal support payments were set at $10,000 after the court determined that the rapper made $152,000 per month. Nas and his legal team contested that the numbers are not accurate and that the singer does not make that much income on a monthly basis.
