DC Maintains Same-Sex Marriage Decision

In a DC Court of Appeals, same-sex marriage was upheld as the ruling was in response to a prior decision to not allow voters to decide on the issue. In 2009, the DC Council approved same-sex marriage. The bill then became a law as the court upheld this decision. This matter is continuing to be upheld as it will not go to a ballot "because it would promote discrimination against gay men and lesbians."
