Father Facing Two Years for Failure to Pay

A man in Bridgeport could spend two years behind bars for failing to make his child support payments. The defendant has not made any payments since 1993 and currently owes more than $93,000 in back support. W.A.R., 53, went before a judge in Connecticut this week to enter a guilty plea. Back in 1993 the defendant was ordered by a New York judge to make regular child support payments. His ex-wife moved to Connecticut with their four children at that time and he reportedly has not made any payments since then. The only money that his ex-wife has received has been minimal and was garnished from his wages or taken from his state income tax refunds.

At this time, neither the defendant nor his attorney is taking comments from the press. Are you having trouble making child support payments? If so, you should consider seeking legal counsel immediately. Take the time to work with a family lawyer in your area so you can seek the payments you need to provide for your child.
