Russell Brand Walks Away from $22 Million during Divorce

The divorce between singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand is nearly complete. The comedian's attorneys filed the final divorce documents last week in a Los Angeles court house. The two were wed for just 14 months before Brand filed for divorce. Since the two are seeking a divorce in California, a community property state, Brand could have walked away with half of his wife's income from during their divorce. According to Forbes magazine, Perry earned over $44 million during their short matrimony.

Since the two did not sign a prenuptial agreement, Brand could have earned nearly $22 million. However, the comedian decided not to ask for the money.
