Paternity tests are on the rise according to one DNA testing firm. These tests are used to determine whether a man is the biological father of a child. A DNA testing company from Utah released the results of a poll showing that 10% of women and 12% of men have had a need for DNA testing. In addition, 20% of randomly polled individuals knew a friend or family member that had taken a DNA test.
According to one professor at the Swinburne Institute of for Social Research in Australia, as much as 2% to 4% of individuals have a "misidentified paternity." This is twice the number of people from Europe. However, this might also be linked to the fact that the United States has a higher rate of children that are born from parents that are not married to one another. Are you curious about a paternity related matter such as child custody? If so, now is the right time to seek assistance from a
family lawyer that is local to you.
