Jacqueline Fliehr, the estranged wife of Ric Flair, is seeking the court's help in collecting thousands of dollars in separation support and alimony, that was agreed upon between the divorcing couple in an interim separation agreement but that Flair has failed to pay, as reported by the Charlotte Observer.
Ric Flair, whose real last name is Fliehr, is a considered a celebrity in Charlotte due to his former career in professional wrestling.
Fliehr accused Flair of committing "acts of illicit sexual behavior" and "marital misconduct" during their nearly two yearlong marriage – the coupled married in November 2009 and separated in June 2012.
According to Fliehr's complaint, the interim separation agreement was signed by Flair in October and by Fliehr in November.
Fliehr's complaint reads that her "Husband has had numerous intimate relationships with other women during the parties' marriage to the embarrassment and humiliation of wife" while she herself had remained "a faithful and dutiful wife."
Fliehr filed the complaint on November 20. Flair has not commented, however, his attorney, Larry Hewitt told reporters, "He denies all those allegations of misconduct. He contends she committed acts of marital misconduct and domestic violence. The issues will all be resolved in the courtroom."
According to WCNC-TV, in February of 2010 police reported that Fliehr punched Flair in his face during a domestic dispute in their home. Flair's injuries were minor and he did not require medical care. Fliehr was charged with assault, however, the charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence.
The complaint states that Flair earns over $1 million a year and the separation agreement required that he pay her a $4,000 per month sum for support. The first payment was due on October 15 and was not received.
The complaint states, "Despite numerous promises of payment, husband has not made a single spousal support payment as of the date of filing this complaint."
Fliehr further attests that Flair also failed to pay her $14,000 in support – in addition to the monthly $4,000 – for this past July, August, September and the first half of October.
Further payment was due to cover $15,000 in Fliehr's attorney fees, also agreed upon in the separation agreement, which has also yet to be paid.
Throughout the couple's union, according to Fliehr, she had faced "indignities" that she found "intolerable" and "burdensome."
In the matter of income, Fliehr has stated that her ex-husband "recklessly spent" her own income while hiding his assets from her.
Fliehr seeks a judge's order to get Flair to keep his commitment for separation support, alimony, attorney fees and the equitable distribution of their property.
Flair is also experiencing some financial woes. He currently owes over $200,000 in unpaid federal taxes, interest and penalties. He also owes the state of North Carolina over $40,000, again in taxes, penalties and interest.
