Domestic Violence Offender Had History of PTSD

With so many of our troops returning home from war, it is impossible to ignore the signs of post-traumatic stress disorder that can be observed in many men and women. This was the case of a 39-year-old man involved in a standoff with the police, who turned out to be a Marine with a history of PTSD.

According to police in the area, officers responded to a domestic violence call last Thursday morning. When they arrived, the suspect had already fled, but the woman inside stated that he had attacked her. Officers looked up his home address and, as suspected, he was hiding out inside. When he was asked to come outside, he refused, and finally wound up in a standoff with the responding officers.

He finally left the building without incident, and was taken directly to a local detention facility. He has since been charged with one misdemeanor count of aggravated assault and domestic violence.

If you want to put an end to abuse in your home, now is the time to seek help from a family lawyer who can protect you from further harm.
