Wife Hires Hit Man to Kill Husband Pre-Divorce

A man whose wife tried to hire a hit man to have him killed has finally received his divorce from the woman. The wife was sentenced to twenty years in prison for offering a hit man $3,000 to kill her husband in 2009. The hit man turned out to be an undercover police officer. The woman lawyer later argued that she believed she was being recorded as part of a hoax to get on a reality TV show and that she did not actually want her husband killed.

The woman is currently out on bond as she appeals her conviction. In the divorce agreement the man was given the couple's townhome, and the couple's assets were split according to what they each brought into the marriage. Each partner will be responsible for their own debts under the divorce settlement.
