TV Show Causes Stir Amongst Adoption Community

One popular TV show is creating quite a stir in the adoption community.

In the show, one of the main characters, who is still in high school, becomes pregnant and then decides to give her child up for adoption. In the new season, however, she has a complete personality overhaul and decides to get her baby back. While TV often presents fictional situations that would not actually pan out in real life, those in the adoption community do not want the show's producers to run the story.

They state that it is unrealistic to portray a birth mother simply getting her child back from its adoptive parents. Each state has laws to prevent such a thing from happening, as it would disturb the new life of the child as well as the family that child is entering. Now adoption experts are concerned about adoptive children watching the show and wondering whether their biological parents would ever storm back into their lives to reclaim them.
