Father Strangles Ex Over Child Support Payments

After strangling his ex-girlfriend over child support payments, one Mineola man is now facing 20 years to life in jail.

Last March the man pleaded guilty to the murder of his ex-girlfriend in the Nassau County Court on Long Island. The victim, the 36-year-old ex-girlfriend and mother to their then 6-year-old daughter, lost her life in November 2009. Court reports show that the pair fought frequently over missed child support payments.

The man not only strangled and killed the victim, but dropped her body off at an abandoned home on Long Island. Her body wasn't discovered until two weeks later when a meter reader noticed the body on the side of the house. Police arrested the suspect the following day.
