Private Contractor Leads to High Child Support Collection Rate

State officials are praising a new private contractor for the continued high rate of child support collection in El Paso County.
Young Williams has worked for the county since January 2011. The company has reported that, so far, $11.6 million has been collected in child support payments. When compared to the same period last year, the company has collected a whopping $600,000 more. When explaining the reason for outsourcing this work, El Paso County commissioner Sallie Clark stated that it actually saves taxpayers money.
The Williams company has such an impressive collection rate that it even trumps neighboring Denver County. This is impressive since Denver County has thousands of more cases on record. As of now, Williams employs 60 individuals for El Paso County alone, all of who specialize in child support services.
