Terms of Schwarzenegger Divorce Reaching Resolution

Unlike other Hollywood couples who take months agonizing over the divorce settlement, former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have already started discussing the details of their own settlement.

News sources say that Arnold will get to keep the family home while Maria has already purchased a house in Brentwood. The property was sold for $10 million but reportedly needs to be completely renovated before Shriver and the children can move in. Shriver supposedly purchased the property since it is just three miles from the family home, making it easier for the children to go back and forth between the homes. Since the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement, it is assumed that all of their communal property will be split evenly.

Back in 1986 when Shriver and Schwarzenegger married, the two had few assets to list. Nearly 26 years later, the two have amassed a serious fortune, estimated to be worth nearly $400 million. Although the specific figures have not been released, financial experts estimate that Shriver is worth $100 million while Schwarzenegger is worth the remaining $300 million.

The circumstances of divorce are never easy to navigate, but the process can be made less difficult when people choose to work with a family lawyer in their state of residence.
