Law Enforcement Officer Accused of Domestic Abuse

It is devastating to hear that anyone has become a victim of domestic violence; it is even more horrifying when it is at the hands of a law enforcement official.

Last week a prison guard from Monroe was taken into custody on suspicion of domestic violence against his wife. Reports came in that the 29-year-old man had caused such damage to his wife that doctors at the local hospital had treated her for 75 bruises that covered her body from head to toe.

However, the man went to the police a few days later to issue his own statement that the woman had actually attacked him first. He said he had acted in self-defense against her aggression instead of initiating it. He claimed he was even forced to use the "hammer fist" technique that he learned for his work.

At this time, police are still looking into the domestic abuse incident.  No charges have been filed.

To stop domestic violence in your intimate relationship, you'll want to enlist the services of a family law attorney as soon as possible.
