Child Custody Case to be Decided in Georgia

A child custody case will reportedly be decided in Georgia not in Italy. A former University of Georgia professor reportedly fled with her child to Italy in order to divorce her husband. It is being ruled that only the child’s home state can decide custody matters. The home state is reportedly defined as where the child lived for six months prior to any custody claims. The couple had previously married in Ital, but lived in Georgia from 2004 to 2007. The son has duel citizenship.
