In Dodge City, custodial parents have been presented with a new way to receive child support payments. Through the Kansas Payment Center, parents can instantaneously have child support payments added to their bank accounts. Additionally, non-custodial parents can now make their payments online, which saves considerable time and prevents late payments.
Spokesperson for the Kansas Payment Center, Lori Hutchinson said, "Support payments can be made from existing bank accounts in the form of an e-check, and now they can be made with a credit or debit card."
The Kansas Payment Center launched the new program on July 6th in collaboration with the judicial branch and Social and Rehabilitation Services. It is hoped that with the new program, making child support payments will be easier and receiving payments will be faster.
