Recently, in Los Angeles, California, comedian and film star Eddie Murphy was ordered to pay over $50,000 a month in
child support to singer, Mel B, for their daughter Angel Iris, who is almost 2 years old.
Murphy was ordered by a Los Angeles court to pay $51,700 a month in child support to Angel, until she reaches 18 years of age, which means that 47 year old Murphy will make $10.3 million total in child support payments.
Additionally, Murphy has also agreed to see his daughter after refusing to partake in her life since she was born. In the beginning, Murphy did not believe that he was the girl's father. However, paternity tests later proved that Murphy was Angel's biological parent.
Melanie Brown spent over 15 months fighting in the L.A. Count courts to receive child support for her daughter. Both she and Murphy signed non-disclosure agreements, which prevent them from discussing any of the proceedings and orders with the public.
Angel Iris was born on April 3, 2007 and shares he father's birthday.
