Divorced Spouses Split Home - Literally!

Just in on FoxNews.com - when it comes to 50/50 distribution of property, some couples take the matter very literally. Recently, 40 year old Meuon Rima of Cambodia decided to take the
divorce laws of his country into his own hands by literally cutting his house in half. Rima left one side for himself and the other side for his soon-to-be ex wife.
Local media reports that Rima sawed straight down the middle of his stilted home that he once shared with his wife, Nhang.
Rima decided to divorce his wife because he claims that she did not care for him or look after him during a recent illness. He is reported to have taken his half of the house to his parent's property, leaving the other half of the home for Nhang and his two teenage children.
Cambodian law dictates that all couple's assets must be divided equally upon the dissolution of a marriage. This means that both the husband and wife are entitled to half of the couple's accumulated assets. In this case, it seems the interpretation of Cambodian law was taken a little too literally.
