In Omaha, Nebraska, a northeast couple has been fighting the court since last year regarding an adoption case. Reports disclose that the couple, Angela and Jason Vesely, are fighting the courts for a chance to adopt a young boy. And, even though the Supreme Court sided with the couple, it looks like they may be in store for even more legal battles in the near future.
The Supreme Court's initial ruling may be challenged by the adoption agency that worked with the couple and also the boy's biological parents. The biological parents may decide to file a lawsuit in order to retain custody of their child.
At this time, the amount of legal battles the Veselys is yet to be determined. However, they are celebrating the ruling they received today from the Supreme Court.
According to a spokeswoman from the Nebraska Children's Home Society, officials plan to evaluate the ruling before responding and proceeding with further legal action.
The attorney for the boy's biological family, P. Stephen Potter, says that it is very likely that the parents will continue to fight to keep custody of their child, but that meetings still need to take place on all sides.
