Michael Jackson’s Family Involved in Messy Dispute

The entire Jackson family was affected by the death of their musical icon Michael, but the mess that he left behind is just starting. The Jackson family is now embroiled in estate and custody disputes as they battle about who should inherit Jackson’s fortune and who should look after the three children he left behind. According to The Wall Street Journal, the Michael’s three children are currently with their cousin Tito “TJ” Jackson Jr. The custody was transferred to him soon after the strange disappearance of Mrs. Katherine Jackson, Michael’s mother and the children’s grandmother this past week.

Paris Jackson, Michael’s eldest daughter and one of the children in the custody dispute, was concerned about her grandmother’s whereabouts when rumors swirled that the elderly woman had been kidnapped and held against her will in California. She was located by law enforcement in Arizona at a sister’s home, though some press say that she was at a conspicuous spa for several days. When Katherine’s attorney tried to contact her about the custody dispute, he could not reach her and flew to Tucson to get in contact.

When he arrived at the spa where she was allegedly staying, personnel said that cell phones were not allowed and that Katherine could not see anybody. TJ explained that he got a strange and concerning phone call from his grandmother in the wake of the disappearance, and she seemed fearful when talking on the phone and choosing her works in a strange and careful manner. On July 26th, Grandma Jackson arrived home, but the custody battle rages on. Paris, Prince, and Blanket were taken from their grandmother’s custody when she did not contact them in any way after several days of disappearance. During that time, Paris Jackson used social media to tell the press about the issue. She said that her grandmother was gone for 9 days without any communication.

Paris believed that her grandmother was abducted, rather than leaving without any notice. On Twitter, the young woman also slammed her aunt, Janet Jackson, using explicit language and asking her aunt to leave the house. Later, she apologized for the particularly violent words. Katherine said in a statement to ABC News that the custody transfer was a bunch of lies, and that she still has guardianship of her grandkids. The older woman also told the press that she was not abducted by any of her children, as rumors have alleged. The family law judge who approved the custody transfer of the children says that he has no evidence that Katherine Jackson has made any poor decisions while parenting the children.

Instead he says that she was prevented from fulfilling her role as guardian and a new custody agreement was needed. Some say that her prevention was through the “intentional acts of third parties” and that some of the Jackson children detained Katherine so that the custody transfer could take place with legal reasons. If this is true, Katherine has yet to confess the issues took place. The judge says that the decision to permit TJ Jackson custody of the children was a necessary one at the time. The children are not permitted to leave the state of California without court approval, so that none of the family members can possibly hold them captive in any way.

Tito is trying to obtain full custody of the children, as is reported at Fox News. While Katherine is devastated the woman has allegedly told press that she is ready to let Tito take over.
