When Sean isn’t in the courtroom, he enjoys building custom furniture. His current project is building a built-in dresser/bookcase for the master bedroom.

Sean McIlveen grew up in Gastonia, N.C. He graduated from UNC-Charlotte with his B.A. degree. He attended Wake Forest University School of Law and graduated from the University of Houston with his J.D.

Since graduating from law school, Sean has practiced in Gastonia, North Carolina focusing his practice only on issues affecting families. He’s experienced in all issues of family law including custody, support, alimony, property division, grandparents rights, same sex couples, wills, estates, and adoption. Sean really does enjoy helping people. He has a certain passion for doing things the right way. It evident not only in the way he represents his clients but in the furniture he builds.

He believes it’s your right to hear the truth about your case even if it isn’t always what you want to hear. When Sean isn’t in the courtroom or up to his elbows in saw dust, he enjoys spending time with his children and his wife, Angela.
